Passion or Mathematics

Dernière mise à jour : 16 juin 2020

I'm often asked the question of how, why and where does the inspiration comes from. And my response is always whimsical, "The landlord and bill collectors". The truth however is based on the mathematics and formulas I observe in my everyday life. Below you will find images that tell my story of how... How I arrived at this point.

Let's start with Las Vegas although I could have easily started at the age of 12 on the South side of Chicago ...but this is a blog and not a memoir, in other words, I'll try and keep it simple. The image below represents my thoughts while creating my website Circa July 2018. As a youth I dreamed of being in books and in 1995 my art work appeared in "CorelDraw the Official Guide" by Authors Peter McCormick and Foster Coburn. I also became a ghost writer for "Bippity Bop Barbershop", Natsha Anastasia Tarpley, Little Brown Books. But of course, that wasn't enough to satisfy my desire and passion. I wanted to author and publish books period.

The photo above was taken October 6, 2018 at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas after attending the Lenny Kravitz"Raise Vibration Tour". Is it me or perhaps does the picture above resembles a place in Paris? BTW Lenny Kravitz lives in Paris and owns "The Arc" night club.

So now that the exhibition has come to an end, it leaves me on a path to discoverer how to survive in Paris. Wandering around Saint-Germain-des-Prés I stumbled upon a book store that resonated with an image trapped in my mind. I found myself inside of the image that I captured in Las Vegas. The owner greeted me and welcomed me into the store. I asked if I could take a few pictures and she replied, "I see nothing wrong with that". While marveling over the period books and snapping as many images as I could in the moment, then out of the blue she summons me to her desk to show me a book. She places into my hands a book and asked for 35 euros....of course, I laughed, I barely could afford food these days and every dime counts. I open the book and was overwhelmed not only by the title but also that it was authored by Alexander Dumas. Immediately I asked if I could take a picture, once again she agreed. If I wasn't writing this blog in this moment, no question I would be on my way to see if she still has the book that inspired me to become a publisher.

Inspired by Michel Levy, thank you sir.
